Slovenia wishes to be a recognisable, knowledge-based society, conscious of the importance and value of knowledge. It stakes its success on excellence in science and higher education and on exploitation of this knowledge in innovations that, in their turn, bring about economic gains in the global markets. The path to such goals lies in the a triangle of knowledge formed by education, science and innovation. I am convinced that knowledge high innovative culture and excellence can place our country on par with the EU's most advanced countries.
